Samsung Electronics and Apple are competing with the release of 5G smartphones in the second half of this year. Some predict that the schedule for disclosure and release may be somewhat delayed in the aftermath of Corona 19, but the weight is focused on the fact that it does not deviate much from the same level as in previous years.

According to industries on the 22nd, Samsung Electronics and Apple are going to release Galaxy Note 20 and iPhone 12 respectively in the second half of this year. In the case of Samsung Electronics, the company will also introduce its next Galaxy Fold. It all supports 5G and the iPhone 12 is Apple's first 5G model.

Early release of Galaxy Note 20 is being discussed. It will be released in late July and will be released in early and mid-August. Although Samsung Electronics has been releasing Galaxy Note series in the first week of August and releasing it at the end of the same month, it is expected that it will advance slightly this year.

"I understand that Samsung Electronics is aiming to unveil the Galaxy Note 20 in late July and release it in August," Phone Arena said, citing a recent statement by IT specialist Twitterian Max Weinbach, but added, "But it is not accurate and there is still a possibility of it being released it in August."

Although there is a possibility that the release schedule may be delayed due to the influence of Corona 19, Koh Dong-jin, president of IM division at Samsung Electronics, recently said, "We will release Galaxy Note 20 as scheduled."

It is estimated that the Galaxy Note 20 will be similar to the Galaxy S20 in all aspects, including its camera, display, battery and price. "The Galaxy Note 20 hardware specification is quite similar to the Galaxy S20 series," said Twitterian Ice Universe, which specializes in IT. "(The Galaxy Note 20) will be the Galaxy S series with S Pen."

Galaxy Note 20 is expected to be released in three models: the Galaxy Note 20, the Galaxy Note 20 Plus and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Ultra is equipped with a screen of 7 inches or more, while Plus and regular models are expected to be 6.9 inches and 6.5 inches, respectively.

It is predicted that the Galaxy Note 20 will adopt a "punch hole" display with a hole in the top of the display. It is also expected that the rear square camera module, which was first installed in the Galaxy S20, will be included in the Galaxy Note 20.

Samsung Electronics is also expected to release its next Galaxy Fold "Galaxy Fold 2" at the same time as the Galaxy Note 20 series. Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be bigger than its predecessor and support S Pen like the Note series.

The Galaxy Fold 2 display is 7.59 inches when unfolded and 6.23 inches when folded, slightly larger than the previous Galaxy Fold (7.3 inches, 4.6 inches).

It is also expected to be equipped with a smart pen S Pen. If you use an S Pen, you can use it like a tablet when you open it. In March, Samsung Electronics obtained a patent in the U.S. regarding foldable phones with S Pen.

It is highly likely that ultra-thin glass (UTG) will be used for displays. UTG has been used for the Galaxy Z-flip, and its predecessor, the Galaxy Fold, has been applied with polyimide, a type of plastic.

Apple is expected to unveil its first 5G smartphone iPhone 12 in September. Normally, Apple has announced its iPhone lineup between early and mid-September every year.

However, there is a recent prediction that the launch could be delayed due to the spread of Corona 19. PhoneAre predicts the release of the iPhone 12 will be delayed by at least a few weeks at the latest, but predicted it could be delayed by several months in the worst-case scenario.

Japan's Nikkei Shimbun also recently reported that the release of the iPhone 12 could be delayed by several months. The likely date under the guise of being delayed is November.

It is predicted that the iPhone 12 series will feature notch design that has been adopted since iPhone X. Apple has maintained its notch design for three consecutive years since the iPhone X, which was released in 2017.

It is expected that the iPhone 12 will have three triple cameras and the iPhone 12 Pro series will have four quad cameras.

As it supports 5G, its battery capacity will also increase. iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max will release 5G as standard. Apple is expected to have a 4,400mAh battery on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Its predecessor, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, had 3,969mAh battery.
