LG Electronics has unveiled a new mass premium smartphone design that will be released in Korea next month. The rear camera reminds you of falling water drops and cuts the front, left, and right sides into curved surfaces to give you a feeling of being wrapped around your hands. Its strategy is to differentiate itself into designs like "chocolate phones."

On Tuesday, LG Electronics unveiled a rendering image of its mass premium strategic smartphone. Rendering images are a graphic term for three-dimensional images, which refers to real-life expectations of products under development in the industry.

Looking at the released product image, three rear cameras and a flash are arranged vertically as if water drops are falling. The main camera protrudes, but the other two cameras are placed inside the glass. Unlike its competitors who deploy camera modules like induction, it makes a neat impression by highlighting only camera lenses without borders.

The part that is designed so that the left and right sides of the front and rear of the device are curved is also eye-catching. It is called the "3D arc design," which is similar to Samsung Electronics' "edge." Unlike a smartphone that falls at a right angle, it is designed to make the reach wider so that it feels like it is wound when grasped. The silver rim of the exterior is on the speaker the border that appears when the chocolate phone is placed on the speaker.

Cha Yong-deok, head of LG Electronics' MC Design Research Institute, said, "We pursued a refined look with a sleek design as soon as we could see it at a glance, and we will emphasize the differentiation point of LG smartphones by giving each released product a definite theme."

LG Electronics has made a winning move as a new product that emphasizes design in the smartphone market, which is similar in design, as bezel has become thinner and the number of cameras has increased. It will scrap its previous flagship model, the G series, and launch a new product in the middle of next month under the new brand.

Its new mass premium product is expected to be equipped with 8GB RAM and Android 10. A product named LM-G900N has been detected on the global benchmark site Gigbench, which is believed to be a follow-up to the G8 (LG-G820). It has a chip set, code name "Lito" that Qualcomm did not disclose, and is likely to be Snapdragon 765G.

LG Electronics has revised its strategy by introducing regional specialized models starting this year. It is planning to release V60 ThinQ only in 5G commercialization countries such as the U.S. and Japan, and in South Korea, it is planning to release new mass premium products and low-priced phone Q61 in the second half.
