Google knows how your community is moving around

The "coronavirus breeze-free zone" has been confirmed to be Taiwan and Mongolia. South Korea has seen a surge in park visits since the Covid-19 incident. This is based on Google's analysis of changes in the movement of 131 countries around the world.
On Thursday, Google released a "Covid-19 Mobile Report" based on location data for Android mobile device users worldwide (www.google.com/covid19/mobility)

The report compared the population movement average between Jan. 3 and Feb. 6 to the population movement between March 27-29. The locations were divided into six categories: retail, entertainment, food, pharmacy, park, transportation, transfer station, workplace, etc.
You can see how much social distance is being achieved by country and region.

Changes in movement to Korea before and after Corona virus outbreak. There have been fewer retail visits and more visits to food stores and parks.

South Korea saw a 19 percent drop in visits to retail outlets and entertainment facilities, while those to transportation transfer stations also dropped 17 percent, according to the report. Visits to work places decreased 12 percent, and records of visits to residential areas increased 6 percent. On the other hand, visits to parks jumped 51 percent.

Taiwan and Mongolia are already stable.
Mongolia and Taiwan were the countries with the least movement change in all areas. Mongolia has not seen significant changes in its movements, such as residential areas (+2 percent), workplace (-2 percent), parks (+5 percent), and food stores (+5 percent). Visits to retail stores, entertainment facilities and transportation transfer stations were down 16 percent each.
Taiwan also had no major changes, such as residential areas (+4 percent), workplace (-1 percent), retail and entertainment facilities (-9 percent), and food stores (+3 percent). Traffic transfer stations were avoided (24 percent) and park visits increased slightly (+17 percent).

In common, the two countries saw a sharp drop in visits to work places and transit destinations around the end of February, when the Covid-19 spread, but recovered from early March. Moving data indicates that it is now in a period of stability.

Italy and Spain 'Stop'
Italy and Spain, the world's most prolific victims of Covid-19, stopped moving.
In Italy, visits to retail and entertainment facilities (-94 percent) and parks (-90 percent) were almost eliminated, while visits to food stores (85 percent) and transportation transfer stations (-87 percent) were also significantly reduced.
The same is true of Spain. Visits to retail and entertainment facilities and parks plunged 94 percent and 89 percent, respectively, while those looking for food stores (-76 percent) and transportation transfer stations (-88 percent) disappeared.

Asia on the way to work
European and Western countries saw a sharp drop in their movement to work. They are Spain (64 percent), France (-56 percent), Britain (-55 percent), Switzerland (-46 percent), Germany (-39 percent), and the United States (-38 percent).
On the other hand, East Asian countries have changed relatively little. Taiwan (-1 percent), Japan (-9 percent), Korea (-12 percent), Singapore (15 percent) and Hong Kong (-24 percent).

Google "to help each country's health authorities make important decisions," it said in a statement. It also explained that "all location data was anonymously processed and only used historical data from users who agreed to use location records."
